Super Mario Galaxy 2

Most of the levels in Super Mario Galaxy 2 offer a unique task based around its theme, and many focus on dynamic environments that change or alternate between various states. For example, some environments change to the beat of the background music, such as sudden shifts in the direction of gravity or the appearance or disappearance of platforms; and others feature a special switch that temporarily slows down time. Prankster Comets, which were featured in the original game and cause variation and tougher challenges in levels, no longer appear randomly in visited galaxies but instead require the collection of a Comet Medal in that galaxy in order for it to appear.[11] In addition, Prankster Comets have become more general and offer any number of variations: while Super Mario Galaxy offered only five mutually exclusive variations, the Prankster Comets in Super Mario Galaxy 2 range to any number of challenges that often mix or overlap. These include defeating all the enemies, collecting 100 Purple Coins, completing the level within a time limit, completing the level with only one maximum health unit, or avoiding Cosmic Clones (doppelgängers of Mario that imitate the player's actions). As a result, both the dynamic environments and the Prankster Comets often create challenges with puzzle elements, requiring precision and strategy in order to overcome them.[12]

Koji Kondo recruited sixty musicians for the orchestra, ten more than the number of musicians used for the original game's score, with an additional ten musicians providing a big band style of music with trumpets, trombones, saxophones and drums for a grand total of seventy players. The orchestral performances were conducted by Taizo Takemoto, renowned for his work with the Super Smash Bros. Concert in 2002, while Kondo served as a supervisor, while also contributing five pieces to the soundtrack.[37] The soundtrack was available as a 2-disc set to Japanese Club Nintendo members with seventy songs taken from the game.[38]

A lot of the levels in Super Mario Galaxy 2 are based around concepts that were first established in the original game. Things like flinging yourself off a tiny planetoid and letting its gravity send you into a satisfyingly orbit. Levels that change the gravitational pull to make the ceiling of a level into the floor. Things like that. But those ideas have been expanded on with new twists and capabilities, and each "galaxy" to explore impresses in their own way. Whether it's a twist on an old-school game mechanic or a throwback reference to a past Mario game, Super Mario Galaxy 2 constantly impresses with just tons of small but significant elements, one level after another.

Luigi is also playable in the game, unlocked after Mario gets 3 Power Stars in World 3. Afterward, at specific points in time, Mario will find him at the beginning of a galaxy. If Mario speaks to him, Luigi will offer to take Mario's place for the duration of the time spent in the galaxy. As in the original game, Luigi runs faster, jumps higher, and farther, and has slightly less traction than his brother. When the player uses Luigi to gain any star in a galaxy, that galaxy will gain a Luigi ghost they can race against. After finishing the game, the player can switch between Mario and Luigi at will on the Starship Mario.

It's probably gonna be a good game, but I wont waste my money for another Galaxy game when I already got the first one. Why not just play through the 1st Galaxy one more time in a couple of years when u cant remember anything? And instead spending the money for a new nice title. It's a cheap way from nintendo to try to earn more money on an already developed gaming idea, they could have instead developed something totally new in the mario series instead of just making a sequel with pretty much just new stages to go through.

The Dreamcast versions of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 are superior in every single way. The GameCube ports were kinda good, but not as good as the Dreamcast ones, in my opinion. I have both Dreamcast and GameCube versions of Sonic Adventure 1 and 2.

On the sunshine or galaxy thing, all I know is that I love both games. Sunshine was one of the first games I played, so I didn't know what had come out besides that. Galaxy, however, was amazing and brought nintendo even more alive with me because of the other things that had been coming out lately. So that's why galaxy rocked my world.

In Shiverburn Galaxy and part of the Grandmaster Galaxy in Super Mario Galaxy 2, several shadowy figures with hollow eyes can be seen standing on a cliff in the background. They belong to the galaxy's sky model, which simulates the sky by rendering at a fixed distance from the player. As a result, the figures cannot be reached in-game, and give the illusion of following the player character through the galaxy.

The word "Valley" refers to the one in the galaxy's sky model, which encompasses Shiverburn Galaxy. Thus, the course can be described as "BeyondHellValley", and the figures are part of the "BeyondHellValleySky".

Depending on the setting of the internal resolution, as well as the anisotropic filtering, the background in Bowser's galaxy generator is not displayed as on console. To display the background like on console the internal resolution as well as the anisotropic filtering must be set to 1x.

Power-ups have been an important part of Super Mario since day one, with the Mega-Mushroom making Mario super-sized and all-powerful. However, some of the power-ups in Super Mario Galaxy 2 are a little more creative.

Guest ReviewerWhere's shiverburn galaxy but otherwise I love this websiteThat's one of the soundtracks in Super Mario Galaxy 1, except it's called Lava Path (for the lava segments) and Ice Mountain (for the ice segments). That's one of the things that happens a lot, like the 1up tune (in Super Mario Bros). I hope I was helpful. :)

TailsIsCutein my eyes galaxy one is better i mean the story in this one is meh and the final battle is also meh galaxy one to me had no problemsyour brain is mush. the A-WA-WA-WA song in galaxy one is meh X 30000

This is still incomplete. There are other galaxies in the game whose music has to still be uploaded here. And there is a separate tune for the World 1 map, which is when the player is set to find the Green Stars in each galaxy.

This soundtrack definitely has less songs than the full one but i guess this works if you don't want to get very in depth. The somg quality is food though and I couldn't find most the somgs for free in one spot so this is an okay place to go if you want these songs in a pinch! Overall i would have to give it a 3/10 for not including all the somgs of super mario galaxy 2. Meh

If you have somehow never played it — and that’s entirely possible, since it sold 7.41 million copies, or 5.39 million fewer than Galaxy did — you absolutely have to do so. It is better than the game it is a sequel to in every single way, except for its soundtrack, which is incredible, but ever-so-slightly worse than the original’s best-in-class showing. It is the superior version of the superior version of Mario. It will delight you, it will challenge you, it will stun you with its imaginative design, its ability to bounce and shuffle between ideas and concepts, its faith in the player to overcome whatever obstacle is put in front of them. What an absolute joy of a game, the as-of-yet unmatched pinnacle for an icon. 041b061a72
